Downriver Canoe Company<\/strong> maintains a primitive campground in a spectacular riverside setting called Golden Rock Campground. It is located right at Compton Rapid, the midpoint of the two day river trips<\/strong>. The facility provides fresh water, portable toilets, picnic tables, and firepits, but no showers or hot water. Tent camping only is allowed. This campground is part of the relatively new Andy Guest Shenandoah River State Park which borders Downriver Canoe Company\u2019s base in Bentonville. The campground is located four miles downstream from Downriver Canoe Company. There are nine beautiful sites along the river, tent camping only, no hook-ups. You must reserve through the Virginia State Park system at 800-433-park.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
